Nicky Romero Plays Unreleased Avicii Track In Memory of the Late DJ
Nicky Romero paid a moving tribute to his friend and collaborator Avicii this past weekend during a performance in Singapore.
Romero was playing at Ultra Singapore when he dropped Avicii’s unreleased collaboration ‘Heaven’, a track the late electronic headliner wrote with Coldplay’s Chris Martin. A fitting song for the moment if ever there was when considering the content and tracks’ spiritual meaning.
In the two months following Avicii’s death, DJs and artists the world over have been paying tribute to the late Tim Berg with Tiësto performing a 12-minute mega-mix in memory of him live from EDC Las Vegas back in May.
In 2012, Avicii and Romero enjoyed international success with their track ‘I Could Be The One’ peaking at No.3 in Sweden whilst topping the charts in both Hungry and the UK. The track also reached Top 10 positions in Australia, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway and the Republic of Ireland. To this date, the ‘I Could Be The One’ has amassed a staggering 240 million YouTube views.
