Music Creation Platform Splice Raises $35M In Funding

A cloud platform tailored to music creation and collaboration has raised $35m in funding and has paid its artists/users $5m since launching in 2013.

Splice integrates with key DAWS offering ability to collaborate, share ideas and also preview individual samples one by one, purchasing them using credits purchased through the platform. There’s also the option for producers to ‘Rent-to-Buy’ plugins which include iZotope’s Ozone 8 and Xfer Records Serum.

Splice CEO Steve Martocci said:

Our vision is big: to transform the way musicians create and collaborate, to foster a culture of openness in music, and to uncover new revenue streams for artists through artist-to-artist marketplaces.”
