Fabric to Release 111-track #savefabric Compilation
The compilation will feature a previously unreleased tracks or reworking of old and classic compositions by a wide array of artists who have all donated the tracks for free. The DJs and producers involved only had 21 days to submit music for the comp which will be released digitally on November 4th.
A few of the names set to feature are dBridge, Dub Phizix, Machinedrum, Mathew Jonson, Lucy, Nathan Fake, Simian Mobile Disco, Skream and Tiefschwarz.
The Farringdon clubbing institution recently had its licence revoked for a number of issues relating to its drug policy and since then the club has received support from all corners of the music community. A petition that was drawn up has attracted over 160,000 signatures with over a £300,000 raised to help fund the spiralling defence costs of its legal battle to reopen the premises with the impending court date set for November 26th.
In a statement the club says of the impending digital release;
“In the era of the playlist, this compilation represents a comprehensive overview of electronic music from the outer fringes of experimental explorations right through to music aimed squarely at the dance floor. Ahead of the court date which will determine the long-term future of fabric nightclub we’d like to present this compilation as a document of this moment in time but also as the perfect embodiment of everything fabric and Houndstooth stand for.”
#savefabric will be released digitally on November 4th and you can pre-order your digital copy via the Fabric website or Bandcamp.
