DJ Khaled Hits Back Over EDC Controversy

Following DJ Khaled’s much maligned EDC set last weekend, the New Orleans based artist has taken to Instagram to tell his side of the story.

For those not aware about the Khaled controversy allow us to quickly fill you in. After rocking up at what was rumoured to be over 20 minutes late for his set at EDC Las Vegas, Khaled only went on to play for a short period blaming poor sound quality and technical problems. Those in attendance didn’t waste any time in taking to to social media to vent their fury at Khaled’s supposed tardiness and before long it was widely rumoured that he was actually booed and heckled throughout which subsequently brought about an early end to his set.

A furious Instagram protest from DJ Khaled in response to the backlash went something like this:

They (EDC) Tried to sabotage my sound so many times THEY could not get the sound right on my set and i still stood on stage wit no sound and when they got the sound to work they want cut my set short but I still rep for my people anyone else would walk off stage .. i knew my California and Vegas fans was in the building .. THEY DONT WANT US TO WIN SO WE WIN MORE FOR THERE HEAD TOP!!! It’s all luv thoe .. love is the key.. I forgive them … love is always the answer !”

But Pasquale Rotellam, Insomniac’s chief, was more diplomatic in his response in an attempt to quash the growing Khaled controversy which has engulfed the artist and festival alike.

[DJ Khaled] arrived on time and ready to rock the crowd, but equipment issues delayed the performance. Even though there were technical difficulties he still got on stage and showed his fans love.

In response, DJ Khaled went on to be interviewed by Power 106 Los Angeles to further explain his side of the story as well as discuss his new album ‘Grateful.’
