deadmau5 Releases Orchestral Concept Album
deadmau5 has released his much anticipated orchestral album ‘where’s the drop’ exclusively via TIDAL.
The ambitious concept record has been produced under the guidance of award-winning French-born music director and composer, Gregory Reveret. The pair first met during a “mau5trap Mondays” Twitch session where deadmau5 reviews and critiques up and coming electronic producer hopeful’s tracks via the popular video streaming platform.
Influenced by 2014’s ‘7’, a collection of seven tracks based on the Seven Deadly Sins, the 15-track album features brand new versions of ‘Strobe’, ‘Imaginary Friends’, ‘Coelacanth’ and ‘HR 8938 Cephei’. Its launch was accompanied by two sold-out shows at iconic music venue The Wiltern in Los Angeles during which deadmau5 performed the entire album with the backing of a full orchestra.
‘where’s the drop’ can be heard via TIDAL.com/deadmau5 and purchased via deadmau5′ record label mau5trap. If you’re not already a Tidal member then there’s the opportunity to sign up for a special 90-day free trial to access the album and accompanying live stream.
