Bicep to Release Self Titled Debut Album
Irish purveyors of house and techno, Bicep, have announced they will be releasing their debut album later this year.
The duo, made up of Matt McBriar & Andy Ferguson, will release their hotly anticpated first album via Ninja Tune on September 1st. The album has been described as a “mixed bag” and according to a press release the record distills their passion for classic house, techno, electro and Italo disco into one “succinct” record.
The self-titled LP has has been in production for nearly 18 months and the pair are believed to have demoed up to 60 tracks to feature on the record before selecting the 12 final tracks
Bicep said of the forthcoming release;
“We think the album itself is more on the home-listening side, but there are some tracks which will work in clubs as well. We also focused on really making sure that the mix-down was suited to headphones and home listening.“
In related news Bicep have a rather busy year planned tour wise performing all over Europe and festivals and live shows including Glastonbury, Melt! and Dekmantel as well as Wild Life at DC10, Mosaic at Pacha and a whole host of dates in the UK as part of the Bicep (Live) tour.
